Obtaining public school services can be very difficult for twice exceptional students because of the way California* Education Law is written, and needs are determined. This presentation and discussion will explain public school evaluations and services such as SST, IEP, 504, and Eligibility vs diagnosis. Understanding the technicalities of access to school services might help you be less frustrated, or maybe more frustrated, but at least you will understand why.
*The education law that will be referred to will be California, however Melody will comment on relevant federal laws and education laws in other states of attendees if they specify their state when they register.
This event is sponsored by the San Francisco Regional Mensa Gifted Youth Program and is open to all parents and guardians of GY with an active American Mensa membership. It will NOT be recorded.
