As an Educational Consultant, Melody Lowman helps parents identify schools that are a good fit for their child and their family. Sometimes those schools are public, sometimes private; sometimes are designated for gifted students only, and others are « gifted-friendly. » Finding a school for your child can be a daunting task! This presentation and discussion will be an overview of how to go about the process.

Another aspect of a « goodness of fit » school can be working with an existing school to improve the fit. We will discuss your legal rights in public schools and why they aren’t always what you think they are.

We will also discuss what you can do to try to advocate for your child in a public or private school.

This event is open to all parents and guardians of GY in American Mensa. It will NOT be recorded.
