What do a LEGO roller coaster, a working camera, and Optimus Prime have in common? For 15 kids, it is the ultimate playground for creativity and problem-solving during a special scavenger hunt at a LEGO Idea Museum in Fremont on January 19th.

Your Next Brick Idea is a dream come true for LEGO fans. From complex sets like the Titanic to a grand piano, there’s something interesting to see everywhere you look. The space even includes a library where you can rent sets to build at home and a bookstore filled with art and architecture books to inspire your next LEGO project.

The day began with excitement as the kids explored the museum, taking in the intricate details of each set. Their challenge? To create scavenger hunt questions that would stump even the savviest LEGO fans. The questions ranged from clever (“Find an obsolete communication device!” — spoiler: it’s a rotary phone) to downright challenging, like identifying a spot on the LEGO globe using only latitude and longitude coordinates!

Once the questions were crafted, the kids paired up to select their favorites and then split into two teams, each led by the older kids. Each team took a different approach—one worked collaboratively on each question, while the other divided and conquered. Both strategies led to plenty of problem-solving, laughter, and excitement as they solved their scavenger hunts.

Whether brainstorming tricky questions, exploring new sets, or chatting with teammates, the kids were fully engaged and making new friends. The highlight? Learning that their scavenger hunt questions will be used by future visitors to explore the museum

We hope to return to Your Next Brick Idea soon for another adventure, and we’d love for you to join us. Stay tuned for future events!
